Parts of an amphora decorated in the black-figure technique. The fragments were found in 1888 during excavations conducted on the Acropolis and they were pieced together and partially restored.

On each side of the amphora a quadriga scene is depicted, crowned by a chain of double palmettes. On one of the sides the chariot is boarded by a charioteer and a man dressed in a long chiton and an obliquely worn himation over it. In front of the two men, over the horses, a soaring eagle is depicted. The other side most likely depicts the departure of warriors. Next to the charioteer is a standing warrior holding a spear and shield. A hoplite walks towards them also holding his spear and shield and wearing an Attic-type helmet.
